A frightening prophecy

As Homer so eloquently stated, "What's everyone so worked up about? So there's a comet. Big deal. It'll burn up in atmosphere and whatever's left will be no bigger than a Chihuahua's head."

One can only hope.

  1. The public is fascinated with end-time disaster prophecies and Hollywood and the TV industry are milking that fascination for all its worth. But as I point out in my blog, they leave something important out. They sometimes quote the Bible, and the Bible really does predict disasters in our lifetimes, but they leave out the REASON for these disasters that the Bible gives. According to the Bible, these disasters are a punishment for the sins of man designed by God to bring man to repentance and conversion for our long-term good. But Hollywood has never been a fan of the concept of repentance.

  3. No, actually I enjoyed your comic.

But another thought occurred to me. I am sure what I will say is not the intent of the comic. I think the intent of the comic is that the election of Palin would be a disaster because she would be a bad president, and this is done in a humorous way.

But suppose Palin is elected in November 2012. Could that cause a disaster on 12/21/2012? Maybe.

If you are not a conservative, you probably will not agree with me, but I'll share my thoughts anyway. Obama seems to have abandoned the Bush/Chaney intensive interrogation techniques (like water-boarding) that Chaney said were useful in obtaining information to stop terrorist attacks. The conservatives in this country think Obama is soft on terrorism. Suppose they are right. Islamic terrorists would be able to use the next three years to make preparations for attacks in the United States. But if the Islamic terrorists feel that a second term for Obama would work in their favor because he does not strongly support Israel, they may hold off on attacks until AFTER the 2012 elections. If Palin were elected, they could then "punish" the United States with terrorist attacks, just as they punished Spain for having troops in Iraq. An attack anytime after the November 2012 election and the January innauguration of the new president would happen before a hard-line president took office but without affecting the election. So a Palin election could trigger terrorist attacks on December 21, 2012 or anytime in December.

So your cartoon may be accurate.

    Best wishes.
